In a capital and university town, depth-oriented care can be scarce. As a Florida-licensed psychologist and certified psychoanalyst, I work with adults across Tallahassee and the Panhandle by video — serious, confidential depth work from wherever you are.
Schedule a ConsultationTallahassee runs on cycles that few other Florida cities share — legislative sessions, academic semesters, election years. As the state capital and home to Florida State, Florida A&M, and a large public-sector workforce, it's a city of high achievers under sustained pressure: faculty and graduate students, attorneys and policy staff, clinicians and administrators. That kind of demanding, performance-oriented environment can quietly take a toll, and the culture around it doesn't always make room to acknowledge that.
I offer individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for adults — in-depth work that reaches beneath symptoms to the patterns and experiences underneath. My practice is grounded in contemporary relational psychoanalysis and intersubjective systems theory, with an attachment-theory influence.
Tallahassee and the surrounding Big Bend are relatively isolated from Florida's larger metros, and the supply of depth-oriented psychoanalytic clinicians locally is thin. Video changes that entirely: you can work with a certified psychoanalyst from a private space at home, without relocating your search to Jacksonville or beyond. For academics and professionals whose schedules bend around sessions of the legislature or the academic calendar, online work also offers the flexibility to keep treatment consistent through the busy stretches.
In a community where professional and social circles overlap — especially in government, law, and academia — the privacy of telehealth can itself be a relief. Sessions take place from wherever you feel most comfortable and unobserved, with no shared waiting room and no chance of crossing paths with a colleague on the way in.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and attachment concerns, and neurodiversity. I also work with adults navigating burnout, grief and loss, and life transitions. If briefer therapies have left the deeper questions unaddressed, longer-term psychoanalytic work may be what's been missing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Florida (PY6593) and a Certified Psychoanalyst with more than three decades of experience. I completed eight years of post-doctoral psychoanalytic training and am a founding faculty member of the Tampa Bay Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies. I have also taught and presented throughout my career, so the academic culture of a university town is familiar terrain. You can read more about my background, the services I offer, or how online therapy works.
For a confidential consultation, call or email directly. I'll answer your questions and, if it's a good fit, we'll schedule a first session.
